so my paint on my car has started cracking and flaking off here and there (mostly where there is fiberglass... Evil or Very Mad ) so i decided id take a few pictures for you guys to show you how my paint used to look when this car first entered my family. just kinda sucks because i wash my car by hand and i notice it more and more every time.

my Ground FX are all the color on the left along with my headlight buckets and the section on the hood (i have the z28 hood)

rest of the car is this color

and the iroc-z taillights i picked up off of bob for 20 bucks for 2 sets.

Hey i LOVE the hood! Some others will agree that it is the best looking hood on camaros. Its good to see another one that looks good and being taken care of on the road. Keep up the good work! Thumbs up

funny part is the hood is one of the 3 places i would say needs to be repainted the most. along with the nose and the rear bumper cover. (and anything else fiberglass GRR). oh well. lol it has to stay these colors though.

ya it our cars look pretty good with the glass hood. cant wait to get the exhaust, headers, and cam i picked out for it (has a 83 5.0 liter HO engine in it) should put down a good bit more power. i kinda want to do the t-5 or t-56 swap to it though, stupid 700r4 out of an 83 trans am with its 1:1 last gear. other than that it just needs some little things fixed like the drivers side window still....

if your last gear is 1:1 you probably don't have a 700r4. Its probably like a TH-200c or something.

i was under the impression that early 700r4's had 1:1 as the last ratio.

I'd like to know the answer to this one too. I've always been lead to believe 700R4 is an OD trans. Even the 200R is an OD.

How many gears does the trans have?

Early cars got 3 speed autos. I think they were th200-c's. The C stands for a lockup convertor. It's a lighter weight transmission then the th350. This is not the same as a 200-4r. A 200-4r is a reworked th200 with a 4th gear od, hence the 4r designation. All 700r4s are 4spd OD trannys. Hence the 4 designation again.

According to TGO 82s had the 200c transmission and then in 83 the 700r4 was introduced. 700r4 would still have overdrive though.
