I have only $600 to spend. The car doesn't have to be the best at running, just be able to move it's own weight to my house. Doesn't have to look nice, I don't care about paint. I'm looking for an 87-92 with a 305 and t-tops, and prefer 5-speed but auto is ok. I know $600 isn't much, but it's all I have right now to spend for another vehicle.

Thank you,

Darryl W.

I'll have to keep that in mind (the "working for beer" part).

Actually found a Firebird for $650 that starts but will stall afterwords, might go check it out and see if I can get it running. Maybe get them to drop the price since I will work on it.

Also religiously checking Craigslist.

Yeah, I was looking at that one. Sucks that it needs a tranny mount, alternator and water pump, could talk them down since it needs so much work. Engine could be in bad shape if the water pump is bad.

Find out why they think it's bad. If it's just shaft play or bearing noise than the engine is still getting coolant. For an $800 car it only needs a couple hours worth of work, and maybe $200 in parts at the most.

Found one in Tacoma for only $700, going to check it out probably tomorrow. Says it runs, it's an LO3 with t-tops, no paint just primer, and the windshield needs to be replaced. Hopefully it's not infested with rust.

84 L98 IROC is a rare car, I'd grab that up. Smile

Too bad I don't have a honda. I do have a 91-93 (can't remember the year) Saturn that needs a new motor. Well, maybe just a new cylinder head.

I also can raise my spending budget to $700.

Did look at an 89 L03 Firebird. Wasn't running, and had damage on the driver side. Still thinking about that one.
