so who likes the door ding strips?
who hates them?
opinions?
should i reinstall them or just leave them off?
just an fyi, i would like my new paint to not get hit by a door, and i am also still in high school, so that means that i park around high school students and they, well.....are not the best drivers or care about cars.
anyone got a good set for cheap? mine are all cracked up. _________________ -Donald

I don't like 'em, but I wouldn't go without 'em on a daily driver either.
I like them more than I like dings and scratches. |

I've recently seen a bunch of thirdgens around tacoma without the molding and I can't really say I like it. I used to think it really cleaned up the side of the car and it does. But every time I see one now something it just missing to me...
On a daily, I'd definitely say keep 'em. _________________

I personally prefer without, but for something that gets driven all the time, its useful to have, especally with fresh paint. _________________

The square molding I have looks like crap. No molding would be better.
When I paint I'm putting on the thick later style molding. I think it looks good and protects the car a bit. I think that line is too bare w/o it. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

i have the later style, and i would also prefer the later style over the square style!

Mine came with them, stream line with the beveled point tips, and i am glad to have them!
In my opinion they add to the car, give it some detail.
And with the amount of well...trash bag folks out there, who could care less about who's door they are slamming the crap out of...on they go!
I am going to have the shark painted at the end of summer, and the moldings will definately be back on.
The posted pics has some reflections so the molding looks stripped, it's not. _________________

My car never had molding. So when i repainted, i fixed the dings and have never found a good set of molding to put on. But now that its been so long, i like the clean look it has.

I bought my car without door molding or door dings. In less than 2 years I now have countless dings. I kept track of them and most came from my high school parking lot. For a DD i would keep them and wish I had some. _________________ Richmond 3.73 posi| 36/24 sway bars | SLP LM2 | Koni's | Ground Control 800/200 | Y2K wheels | Dyno Don headers & Y-pipe | airfoil | BBK underdrive pulleys | Raised strut mounts | Extended ball joints | LCARB'S
