well the last couple of day my driver side window has been making a strange sound and i havnt had time to look at it but then today it made the sound much worse and i look out the wind and on the out side the window the is this metal thing sticking out so i messed with it a little and it poped right back in the door and the sound was gone but then later it was stick out again so i messed with but this time it just came all the way out the door. the window works better than ever and theres no sound i was just wondering it u guys knew what it was and how what really dose it do?will it make any problems not having it?

any way it is a metal piece with cloth or some sort of fabric on it (im assuming to protect the window) it 2 maybe 2 1/2 inches long but it looks like it has broken off a larger piece. if u guys need i can get a pic just my camara dead right now

Bolted to the inside of the door? Looks like it has felt on it?

That? It helps align your window while it comes up. Mine was making a horrible groaning noise because the felt had worn away and it was metal against window. Pop your panel and retighten it until you recover the old one or get a new one.

BTW, I stock those. Laughing

ya im pretty sure i know what happened. i think it broke cause a few days ago the car completely froze over night and the window was froze shut and my mom browed the car i told her not to try to roll the window down but she did any way and after that is when the sound started. since the piece came out i doesn't make the sound but i cant just tighten it back on cause it broke off the bracket so ill have to get a whole new one, but its gonna have to wait till i get a job since i can hardly afford to put gas in it right now.
