| My brother is looking for a 05 - 06 GTO with a 6sp manual. He has around 16k + cash, wants to purchase before the end of March. Anyone have a leed? I sent him craigslist stuff for a 500 hundred mile radius and auto trader ad's, any other leads? |

Not trying to stir things up but why buy a GTO? It's a car that never really did anything well and won't hold value.
I've seen Caddy CTS V for sale in that price range. He could also hold out for a year to get a used Pontiac G8. Heck, I can list 10 more cars in that price range that are better than a GTO. |

Thank you for the replays, I will forward them and reply also since my bro cant.
My younger ( by 360 days) little brother (if you can call 6'7, 350 pounds little ) little wants a dailey driver that he can commute from Snohomish to Everette and Boeing feild in Seattle to every day. He has had a couple of 2nd gen Camaros and has driven both of my third gens and 4th gen T/A alot, his problem is head height. The GTO fits him. I have driven a 05 CTSV and told him to not bother. The GTO is a better built vehicle with more headroom, better seats and better materials used on interior bits. The CTSV was fast but I have seen milk cartons that had higher quallity plastics than the Caddy. Tghe headliner and dash where a fugging joke, what the hell were they thinking? How many textures can you put in a vehicles finishes? Most peoples tastes say three, guess Caddilac never asked that question. The new model is a different animal, but then again so is the price.
The Goat fits him and his needs.
I found the silver goat before posting here, it's been sold. I will forward the ND 04 link to him but it is along drive and he wants to be driving it by the end of the week. |

...uh, what?
It's one of the best sedan imitations that GM has put out in the last 20 years. Mainly because GM America didn't initially put it out. It's an Australian import. It did DD status amazingly well. It has enough horsepower to be fast compared to other street cars as well as cushion your tooshin all day long, front seat or rear. Please list these ten other cars. I'll give you a tank of gas if they're anywhere as fun, just as plush, or wrong wheel drive.

| Why is the US so lame? Holden and Europe have way cooler cars than we have. They need to loosen emission controls and collision safety rules. Let the dollar rule all. |

but then they cant control us like a parent
I can understand the drinking/driving rules, speed limits, etc. You can harm others. But the seatbelt one pisses me off. I am not risking others lives by not wearing my seatbelt, just my own. So why the law? _________________ 2008 GMC Z71

We need more population control. Get rid of some of the idiots out there. Okay, wishfully, most of the idiots. |

Be careful, that means that someone gets to determine who the idiots are. When I think about where these types of decisions are made I find it unlikely that they will off themselves

Nice Point Schultzy
And that is a scarey propostition allowing the Gov to make those decisions.
The GTO is very accomidating for a big guy! I'm pushing 6' 4" and with my hair spiked i'm at 6' 7", no issues on head room _________________

True, true. It would be problematic if the wrong people were deciding the idiots. Let's just start off with requiring a permit to procreate. Simple income verification and background check. Like getting a government job! |

You dork... don't call my bluff! GTO is a pig on wheels. It's the slowest 400 Hp car in the world! Maybe the Jag XJR is slower.
I could easily list 10 cars that I would prefer. But that's personal preference. Your list would be different. We can save a lot of debate by letting this be. He explained why he wants a GTO and that's good enough for me. Now we can help look.

Of course it's a pig. Everything now a days weighs 2 tons. The mustang, challanger, charger, G8, camaro are all right at or under 4k lbs. |

| You aren't kidding! The Mustang and Challenger are in a contest of obesity. They are HUGE!!!!! Especially the Challenger. A few weeks ago I saw a Challenger for the first time. It was driving next to a GMC Acadia and the Challenger was wider, longer, and had more ground clearance. They should have given it all wheel drive and marketed it as a sporty SUV. |

| Was just reading a mag, think it was motortrend. Said the new camaro weighs in at 4300lbs. Also saw a nice photo, had a 2nd gen camaro out front on a track, couple mustangs, and right in the middle a new challenger. As someone said, it looked like the fat girl that hangs out with all the pretty ones. Car is large. |

The picture makes it look like the Challenger was in the middle of the pack. In reality it was getting lapped for the 3rd time. |
