Just a small suggestion, and look at what I have jumped into now...

Picked up the LS1 T56 tonight. Seems to be in pretty good shape. The guy I bought it from, had it behind an LS1 in a RX-7, and said it was hard to shift into the 2nd gear, and sometimes 5th. So, it will get a rebuild before I even begin to think about swapping it in.

So, now I get to start gathering parts to go along with this, I dunno how long i'll be at that, need to descide just how much I'm going to do when I put it in. Probably do a scattershield, and clutch at the least when I do it. Probably will want to put steeper gears in the back-end also.

Sweeeeeeeet. T56s are fun. Very Happy

Six Speeds inc. used to be the best place I found for good prices on parts but they went out of business. D & D has a bunch of stuff but they have hellacious prices.

If you need any help, drop me a line.

I used http://www.hanlonmotorsports.com I think Paul did also.

Bob Hanlon is a great guy. Took the time to answer all my questions. Granted his prices aren't as low as Ebay, but you can't call an ebay "middleman" and have him discuss end play verses putting preload on the bearings to with you either.

I called a number of places and Bob was the only one willing to take the time to "educate" me. And as they say............."That's priceless".

So.........."wanna be" guy............got that thing torn down yet??? Wink

Hey now, it is a piece of high-quality late 1980's VW engineering.

Err.... Late 80's and VW I just see parts falling off.... That'd be cool if it was in mid-air though!

I have a friend that was Mr. Ford Mustang for years and years. Then he got a better paying job..... Very Happy

He got himself an '80s BMW. Then went to a Porsche 944, got an Audi for winter, and his wife drives a Jag XJR. He's become a total euro-snob and we have nothing in common any more. Laughing Laughing Laughing

Do not worry, the Camaro is not going anywhere. The Audi is fun, but it sure is not a V8 muscle car.

(Although there are some audi guys, who have stuffed the 400+ hp, Audi 4.2l V8, into cars like mine...)
