You never realize just how many pieces a car has til you go to put it back together. Been working on this thing for months now, but its getting close. Swapped cabs.. started with a completely bare cab. This weekend i've been putting everything back in it. Got the doors and weatherstripping back together. Amazing how you figure out the easiest, proper way to do something, after doing the first one. Doors kinda suck. Put most everything back in the dash, including wiring harness, and welded in the new "low hump". The cab was a 4x4 cab so it had a bolt in high hump. Here's a couple pics. I think things are looking pretty decent for a daily driver.

Here's the new hump.

And an interior shot. Waiting for my carpet to arrive yet.

Did a whole lot of rewiring under the hood today. Trying to clean things up under there. Seems that most of this truck has been wired one piece of a time. The original wiring hardly does anything! lol

Looks good. New powdercoat touches in the interior turned out nice.

A bit more. Last night I made a plate to surround the radio. With just the radio alone you could still partially see the knob holes from the original, and the previous owner had made the hole too big.. so the radio slid around all over. So I cut a plate out of a sheet of aluminum I had.. and powder coated it chrome to match the rest of the interior. I also powder coated the ash tray.

When I ordered my carpet, I also ordered a sound deadener to go under it. Stuff comes pre-cut and ready to install.. only $37 too!

Tonight I finally installed the steering column. Getting much closer!

Very nice. The blue and silver theme is working very well and it makes the red accent that much sexier Wink

It came from a 72 parts truck that a police officer had hidden behind his hedge. Truck had oklahoma plates.. and he'd only sell it to us if we promised not to apply for a title.... hmmmm...

Installed the most important pieces tonight... the amplifier and subwoofer! lol

Sub is getting to be pretty old now. It's gone through a few different amplifiers.. 2 trucks.. and a flood! It's an interesting space saving design though. It was made by polk, and contains 4 6x9s arranged in a push/pull setup. There are 3 chambers, the outer 2 ported and the inner one is sealed. The outer casing is supposed to be a parabolic design. I got it because the shape fits nice either under or behind a truck seat. Here's a pic of the inside of the thing.

Oh and I found the sending unit wire.. I think we'd forgotten it when we pulled the cab off.. cause it appears to be just pulled in two! Laughing

Looking good Brandon.

I hope you don't mind, I borrowed the pics of the enclosure to show to some audiophiles on another forum and see if they can find some good info on it.

Took a half day off work today since it was very slow there. Got a bunch more done. Basically need carpet/seat, bumpers, and grille and i'm done. BUT seems my new carpet went awol. UPS has lost it. They have no idea where it went. So the vendor I ordered from is sending out another one. Due to arrive sometime next week.
