So last year when swapping cams before dyno I shredded the internals of my wiper motor. I had the cover off to access the #7 exhaust spring and when I put the cover back on, I didn't realize it was indexed. So when I turned the wipers on it stripped the plastic gears out. Now the wipers would only work on Hi and Lo.
I just got done wiring in a late model, pump-in-reservoir style wiper motor. Still wipers only work HI-LO. I hear a click when turning the lever to intermittant, but no action unless I bump it up to LO or HI
Is there something else I fried? Or is this just a bad wiper motor? Came off a doner car and I don't recall trying to see if the motor worked or not.
Anyone else had this problem? _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

The only help I can offer is what I have read before. Apparently the delay and non-delay motors are the same, the difference is in the covers where the park and delay circuitry is located. _________________ 92 Camaro

Something else I just found. The delay circuitry is still in the cover, but there are minor differences in the motor itself.
| Quote: | The motors from non-delay wipers and delay wipers are NOT EXACTLY THE SAME. Mechanically they are. They'll both function as non-delay and as delay. But the non-delay motor doesnt have the little metal contacts that make the connection to the motor cover. There are terminals there, but the actual contacts are missing. Its not as simple as slapping a delay cover on a non-delay motor.
You can easily swap the contacts from the delay wipers over to the non-delay motor though. |
