Does anyone know if you can put a new magnet on a magnetic pickup distributor? I BROKE one on a vehicle that I'm working on and the parts store will not sell me just the shaft with the pressed on magnet.

I was trying to get the rotor off with a screw driver when i broke the magnet Embarassed

I ended up using a pair of channel locks to break the rotor. Stock 130k mile ignition parts finally broke. Laughing

I have the magnetic pickup. but its for a large cap HEI.

Don't know if it'll help, but its yours if you want it.

Thanks man. I'll try to find one here local but if it doesn't work out I'll be calling you. The truck has a large cap, but it's not coil on cap.
