Well, part of my barn collapsed. Luckily not the part with my trucks or 74 formy. But it still came down on my riding mower, two 3 wheelers, go kart, lawn trailer etc. Just got finished up on the back roof shoveling snow off of it. 4 trees broke and fell on the back hills while i was up there. I'm hoping the rest of the barn holds up. Only this one section is built with a flatter roof, and a different construction. The rest is actual pole construction. Went and turned off the main breaker to it, in case any part with power actually goes down. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Here are some pics.

That does suck. We've been wondering about the structural integrity for years though eh?

Glad it didn't trash the rigs!

Kinda funny the newest part, the part thats built out of actual lumber and not logs, is the part that went down. I even got to watch it go.. Kinda scary walking out there to even look at things.

Surprised Not the three-wheelers! Those things rocked.

Sucks man, but at least your valuable rides survived it.

Good luck with the repair.

Another 6-8" last night. Neighbors barn just completely collapsed. Not sure if mine will stay standing or not. I've tried shoveling, but I dont have the stamina or the footing to stay up there. Trees are snapping like twigs, sounds like rifle shots. Theres probably at least 1 tree a minute going down around me. Sometimes it sounds like a land slide when one goes. I think they're taking several with them when they go down. The rumbles last 10-15seconds. Snow is now over my knees. Moving from the bottom rail of my fence towards the top. I wish I could get my truck out of the barn, but the snow is probably 30" deep right outside the door.. and there are piles from plowing hte driveway besides that. Tried to get debs toyota out of the driveway. Managed to get it as far as the edge of the road before it high centered and got stuck. Driveway was plowed 2 days ago. We're hoping the in-laws can come pick us up for christmas. I kinda dont want to leave though, not sure what might collapse or freeze, or catch fire while gone. Power keeps going out. I'm real surprised its still on. I guess the road crew and the pud have worn out all their chains. So they're having trouble even getting anywhere to help now.,

Holy shat mang.

It's like a frozen apocalypse or something. Sad

Hopefully the rest of the barn stays intact!

We're mobile again! The one neighbors barn came down crushing all his tractors etc. Another barn partially collapsed just down the road from me. And now I guess the riding arena at the fairgrounds just past that went down as well. Mines still holding up so far.. fingers crossed.

Just got done shovelling off a large section of the barn roof. When I felt I couldnt go any further I finally come in the house. Only to discover the kitchen ceiling is starting to sag from the weight on the roof. So up on the house roof I go. Im dead tired and havent even started christmas yet.

That's sad. I'm sorry you're having so many problems with the snow - especially you're house! Crying or Very sad Hope everything turns out okay for you.

Question: In the 2nd picture above, what is jumping through the picture? Looks like a headless dog with huge gonads.

I just saw a piece on the news about that. The story says that they hope to get them repaired before August for the County Fair. The show at COWS doesn't use all of the buildings at the fairgrounds, so if one of the ones that fell normally housed an event, it shouldn't be much trouble to move the event to another.

I think most of the fair buildings that went down were for animals. So we should be ok. I havent seen any news on it yet. Today I heard of several more buildings that collapsed too. There must be about a dozen around the area at least. So I got pretty lucky. My barns still standing, looks easily repaired, and i'm only minus a few toys. I think most will be fixable or cosmetic. Still need to call the insurance and see if I can at least get some money for materials. There's still about a foot to 14" in the yard. Even after all this melting.
