Many thanks to Paul and Brandon for spending their weekend with me and assembling the new engine. Basically the same combo as before with a few changes.

New GM 4 bolt main block, zero decked, standard bore

SRP forged flat top pistons

Eagle forged H beam 6" rods

New intake and exhaust valve for #6 cylinder on AFR head

Unfortunately had to purchase a new cam since the other one did get smacked pretty good. Went with the same voodoo hydraulic roller.

Brandon spotted that the valve seat on #6 exhaust had been smacked a bit worse that we had originally thought. Fortunately Paul had access to his shop and Brandon was able to re-cut the angles. We also spotted some interference with the pushrods and the rev kit. Probably not a performance issue but hoping that correcting this will quiet the valve train down a bit.

There were various other discoveries and problems to work around as is the norm for these projects. We ended up with the engine assembled and lakewood scattershield dialed in but stopped short of installing in the car due to time and tired peoples.

Paul and I are planning to install tomorrow night. With a little more work and a splash of good luck I should be sledding again this weekend.

Thanks again guys.

				| I was going to comment on the lack of beer in the pictures but I guess when working with the specifics involved with putting an engine together, that might be a bad idea. hehe. |

Ha! Plenty of beer was consumed on the premises and at Gustav's (german restaurant). If you look at the 'curby' recycling bin in the first two pics you will see empty, then beers. If you looked now it would be pretty dang full

Paul is heading over after work John. I am off tomorrow so if you want to hang out and/or help come on over in the evening. Plenty of beer in fridge.

Good deal Mike, I'll bet you've been missing the sled quite a bit.

BTW, after the whole vise handle incident, I'm surprised by your lack of judgement with that hammer!!
