so my 89 v6 firebird has been idleing high randomly

the first time it did it for like 2 weeks and then just stopped and went back to normal, and it has done it about 3-4 times since then but only did it for like a day or two.

but its been doing it for a few days now,

anyone have this problem before, and know whats wrong? it is above 2000 rpm sitting in park.

Maybe, just maybe, your Coolant Temp Sender is starting to fail. My 3.1 did almost the same thing for a couple of weeks, never set a code on me. It was also a little sluggish on acceleration from stop, not bad, but noticeable. It was about a $20 fix.
