so instead of making foam, it brought his dead father back from the grave. somehting that was unexpected and imposable.

perhaps this will help:
Quote:
Irony is a literary or rhetorical device, in which there is an incongruity or discordance between what a speaker or a writer says and what he or she means, or is generally understood.

In modern usage it can also refer to particularly striking examples of incongruities observed in everyday life between what was intended or said and what actually happened.

Dude, are you seriously defining irony to us?

It is only ironic if there is a level of understanding amongst the receivers. Since some of us do know of the original portrayal or know what the speaker actually once meant, then the lapse in congruency is pointless and void.

Is this ironic or just funny to you?

To be honest it's not even funny from a Nihilist standpoint.

That said, I think we all rained on Tony's parade a little.

well i think it's funny as hell. i did state prior to the comic you kinda have to know what the expected result was to find it funny.

and for the record, i would not presume to define irony, i copied wikipedias definition and posted it.

chris, you introduced me to this comic, though i think you originaly linkled me to this one

this one is also funny to me.

I don't have "daddy issues".

perhaps your expressing undeveloped feelings towards something and needing someone to listen in your own and unique way.
