So, I'll be needing a few miscelaneous pieces for the 383 build (oil dipstick, Balancer, oil pan, timing cover....etc.) and I was brousing Ebay and saw a couple neat pieces that I thought might be better quality than say your standard steel pieces.

Timing cover: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SB-Chevy-Polished-Aluminum-Timing-Chain-Cover-sbc_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33625QQihZ009QQitemZ190220194799QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

Finned Oil pan:

Checked out the feedback. Seems to be mostly good.

Thoughts anyone?

My mother says there used to be a saying when she was into hot rodding. If it don't go, chrome it!

Having said that, I dislike chrome. Brushed aluminum, flat/matte black or gret would look better. Smile

Yup yup My block is a older "010" casting with a drivers side dipstick. I may just go for a JY pan.

Nothing wrong with some Chrome and some Brushed Aluminum. Shiney is easier to clean.

I'm running an old style Dipstick in pan drivers side pan. Fits like a glove.
