|
|
Im picking up a pair of GTA Wheels, will they fit my 91 drum brake rear Firebird, without any issues? I dont know for sure, but im assuming all the GTA's had disk brake rears. I think they should bolt right up, just wondering if i'll need spacers. any input would be most appreciated. _________________ 1991 Firebird L03 T-5 |

They should bolt up fine. Depending on which drum brakes you have, you may *want* the spacer to space them out a bit though.

My TA came stock with those wheels and drum brakes with the spacer. Don't know what purpose the spacer served. Took it off the first time I did my brakes. _________________

The idea of the spacer is to keep your wheels from bonding to the drums or getting a wash of rust on the backside of the rim.
Dunno how useful it is. That's just the only purpose I've ever heard that they serve. _________________

I'd heard that before Chris, but I would think that two like-metals would stick together easier than two different types of metals? But then again I'm not a chemist. |
