and I will fail since I dont have a cat.
Whats the procedure? Go spend $50 to improve your emmisons, show them the receipt for it and you are good for another two years? Or do you HAVE to pass in order to to get my tags?
I still have time (January) but I want to get an idea what I am up for. |

It's $150 you have to spend for an emission's specialist to look at/work on the car. They will write you off for a waiver after that. The specialist WILL NOT write you off if you don't have a cat.
All emissions equipment must be installed properly and working.
You MAY pass w/o a cat. |

Ask Jess if you can register your car at his address. Up there is considered an "agricultural community" and is emissions exempt. Why fight a losing battle?!?!!
IIRC, everything north of Everett (Marysville and beyond) is agricultural.

$150 geez, plus I wouldn't get passed without a cat anyway. My AIR is gone also and I wouldn't want to put them on my nice headers anyway.
I may get it tesed for sun to see what it is at, but can I just get a PO box somewhere that doesn't need testing? |

AIR only cleans up the exhaust when the car is warming up. It, from what I understand has no effect on cruise/idle emissions when fully warmed up.
Clark County doesn't check for NOx so here an EGR valve is useless too. Not sure if it's just my county or WA in general.

Not from what i understand. after warm-up it diverts air to the cat, to aid in the reaction. |
