Ya
oh Crap. to many choices....
AFR, BRODIX, DART, BLA BLA BLA....
SO IF YOU WANTED TO RUN 500 rear wheel hp, maybe more what head would you buy???? Yes it has to be a 23 DEGREE HEAD with a 220/230 cc intake that will flow up around 300 . Unless you can run a 18 degree or other degree head with a stealth ram intake ?????
I am having one heck of a time committing to a specific head.
Help. |

Not going to happen. Also, the stealth ram only flows 275cfm/runner on a good day.

Well
I have been looking at flow numbers.
If you can flow 300 cfm you could do 600 hp.
So I will have the intake match flowed to a set of heads that flow 300 at .650 lift.
Out of the box the stealth flows 275 cfm, that’s still a lot
That’s maxed out; I think it will do it.
The biggest valve I can run will be a 2.08, I could go 2.160 with offsets and a Jesel shaft mount rocker, but we will stick with the 2.08 valves
Unless I can find a deal on those shaft mount rockers, they alone are about 900 bucks new. To much.
I have even found a set of 18 degree heads that take all the 23 degree vales and rockers and headers., but they flow to much , (intake will not bolt up anyway) something like 380 cfm and .650 lift…big money..
It is interesting looking at heads. But yes the intake will be the bottle neck. 300 cfm is a lot of air.......I believe that will support 600 hp.
To run a 427/434 small block I will need a huge cross section as far as intak goes. so the 230 or 235/cc with the correct flow num bers at .650 lift should do it.
The new motown 235 are interesting, but I can't find any flow numbers because they are so new.
the new Dart cnc platinum’s are good as well.
All the name brand head mfg'ers have a good set of heads for those prices that flow good numbers.
But the motown 23 degree in 235 is the only one with the fast burn style. I want to see those heads......

What do you think????

I say take the chance and go with the motown... honestly they do a lot more for flow than most people experience from what I've seen in past researching... they're a quality product, and if you have a problem with it they stand by the product and will help out as best they can.
give them a call if you need more specifics, but I doubt you'll regret it if you go that route |
