man that sucks. well, you should get the 2K from your neighbor Shocked

then i say fix it. crotch rockets are cool, but uhm.... do you relay want to loose a fight with a corolla in an accident? think about how many times you have almost been hit in your car... now think about a bike with no protection other then your right hand. (as in snapping the throttle open and getting out of dodge)

i say fix it.

Is your neighbors insurance going to cover it? And is the car worth getting fixed, or would you rather sell it for 2k essencialy.

This is just not your month, first the headlight incodent, then this. I sure hope things turn around for you.

Think about what you could do to your other 2 F bodies with another 2K. 3 mediocre F bodies, or 2 more badass ones...

~JAKE

Hope things start lookin up for ya man

pff, take the 2k, buy a door at a junk yard, and an aftermarket decal, and keep the money for whatever.

Dude... tell them to leave the stickers off... and you'll get em for $40 online.

I know this because I have a pair of red ones custom that were cheaper than that!

Didn't know GM even had doors you could buy.

As long as they don't total the car, I'd let em do it if you plan to keep the car. A new door would be sweet.

If you don't plan to keep the car. See if you can get the cash. Then as others have said, go pick up a door from a JY and drive it with $1800 in your pocket.

Bet you could find a red one too.

well i talked to the people and they say they can have the "WHOLE CAR" fix and painted for under 2k rather than having the insurance company. i didn't want to rip them off unless its the ins. comp. it looks like a free body job to me. hope its not another maacco job.[/u]

here is what i would bill them for:
junkyard door.
paint for junkyard door (and good paint, color matched)
decals for junkyard door
2x TDS complete hinge repair kits. the new door will undoubtedly sag, and you can't have them uneven.

like you said, you don't want to rip off your neighbors. if they are offering to have your whole car painted i would not turn it down however.
