Lmao.. i sent mine in months ago. New one works much better though. Never could get the first one to connect to the pc with media connect. The new one connected all on its own as soon as I plugged it in. I hope you got the extended warranty. I've heard they're charging $129 a repair no matter what was wrong.

I went ahead and got the extended for the replacement. $50 for 2 years. The 90 day warranty they come with is ridiculous. Did you have many xbox live games saved? If so none of them will work on the new machine. You'll have to call MS again when you get it and get them to give you enough credits to buy the games all over again. The games are locked to the machines serial #, as well as the gamercard. So only the account that d/l'd them originally can use them, not everyone on the machine as before. When I got the new machine, I could play the games but Deb could play none of them. It also sucks that you loose your xbox live time while the machine is gone. All they told me was to sign up under another name to get a free month.

Ya.. I kept my HD too. But the games still won't work for anybody but you from now on. They actually lock to the console itself and your tag. So nobody else on your machine will be able to play them.. until you redownload/pay for them again. There's a thread on xbox.com about it. The people at microsoft will pretend to not know what you're talking about. Then I mentioned the name of an employee there that let out the secret on the site. After that no problem, they credited my account with enough points to buy the games again.
