A certain yellow bird perched atop its jackstands.

Grabbed as many tools as I could stuff in the bird.

Breaktime foods...

It really doesn't look like we did much. Those bellhousing bolts were hard to get to...

Well we left the trans in, got it all ready to yank out. But I forgot my extra flexplate at home like a dumbass. So anyone have an extra t56 laying around? Laughing Most all of the bellhousing>engine bolts were loose. Shocked Didn't take much effort to spin then, most of the effort expended was just reaching them.

Oh yeah, I went wakeboarding today and steve wanted to give all you crewbies a message.
Shocked Laughing

Thought the starter was going out. Sounded like it was spinning but not engaging the flexplate. Picked up a new one and went to put it in (awhile ago), while yanking the old one out we pulled the inspection cover and noticed that the starter gear had been extending in the exact location where about 4 teeth had been chipped off the flexplate.

Figured it was better to go ahead and swap flexplates so Fish didn't get stranded someplace.

You should check that there is the right clearances between the starter gear and flexplate. If they're incorrect that will cause the problem of stripping teeth off of the flexplate. It's easy to adjust by adding or removing the starter shims.

I'm a little more familiar with that car than I'd like to be too. =) Let me know when the plate is done and you're ready to swap injectors (again). Should be able to tear through, since it will be, like, the 5th time through.

Oh, the stripped teeth were a result of fuel being dumped into the cylinder from a problematic injector (or 3).
