Meet at 3:30pm Saturday the 29th.
Weather is permitting.
Meeting point will be in the Best Buy parking lot off airport way. This seems like a good place to meet, since most of you if not all are coming from OR and then we can just pop up 205 and straight onto 14 (And I need to pick up some driving music LOL)
11703 NE Glenn Widing Dr
Portland, OR 97220
You'll turn North on the first street East of I205 on airport way. It is where a Sharis and Hotel are on either corner. The road winds to the right and Best Buy is just after Home Depot on the left.
If anyone has any troubles they can call me 360-597-8519.
I suggest eating before meeting so we can get to the cruise. Hit a food space on the way down to the track (Sharis, Burgerville, or something)
Don't forget to gas up! There are stations on the way but more expensive (I'll top her off in stevenson, but that's because I don't know my milaged) those of you less modified cars should be more than fine on a full tank.
Looks like there weren't many of us going but it should be fun anyway. Chris, if you wanted to go on the cruise you could ride with me or Tony would probably let you ride too.
Ciao
-Paul

I'll be there.
Driving tunes? You don't like the V8 rumble as music?
I also may not be racing. I have a 10" crack in my windshield. I don't know if they will let me on the track with that, or not. (do you know Paul?) |

Yes I will......Tony, bring your camera......we'll get some shots of of all the cars at Mcllellen and at the track (maybe some burnout pictures if you guys feel like toasting them on the tarmac)..I'll be the "offical" camera man...
John, According to the NHRA rules they operate by for SL drag night, on.....they shouldn't let you run with the crack, however I do remember last season there was an older (73-87 body) Grey GMC pickup with a giant crack on the passenger side of his windshield and he ran a couple times...you might be able to fudge your way by...wouldn't count on it though, especally if you have to register and get a new card for this season...that's when they do the most thorough inspection. _________________

while I"m naming NHRA rules, here's a couple to remember for Saturday, you'll need these things:
If you run on the 1/4 mile, you MUST have these things
No hanging or loose body parts or panneling..
Battery Hold Down
Function seatbelts or Seat Restraint system
Functioning Headlights/Taillights
If your car/exhaust is over 120db you they won't let you run after 10pm..
For the "quicker" bunch
If you run below a 14.99 you must have a Driveshaft safety loop
If you run below a 13.99 you must have a helmet
If you run below a 11.99 you must have a rollbar
I dont think anyone in this club has a sub 12 sec 3rd gen F-body....some are real close though...
if you do a google search for NHRA handbook, it has more outlined... _________________

Even if you did (which I doubt you will), you'd still get to run that once and then they'd kick you out.
Didn't the dewey lama run a low 14 off bottle with more power than what you dyno'd with? What'd the butt dyno say you gained off that exhaust?
Heck, I'm not worried about getting any where close to 13.9 (rollbar required) and I dyno'd 50 more hp. |

not enough to beat a juiced 305
keep in mind i have not driven anything as fast as my mostly stock 350 since...... my mom bought a brand new oldsmobile aurora... i think i was 17. it got totled by a guy in a civic that was drunk about 5 months later (and totaled the ar infront of her, pushed her 16 feet ). and i have never raced anything (on the track) to get a refrence point... so i have no clue what a 14 second car feels like. |

I didn't mean a video camera......A digital or one that takes 35mm will be sufficent. _________________

I thought helmets were required on 15.0 and faster or something like that? And a rollbar at 12.9 or 11.9 or something?

I don't know shizzle about guesstimating ETs but I'd be going for a high 14/low 15. |

Below 14 you need the helmet.
Below 13 is prolly the loop. Tony will be fine without either.
60db noise limit has to be a typo right? My wife's Honda is louder than 60 db. |

Rod's Right.
13.99 and Lower = Helmet.
12.99 and lower OR Slicks = Safety loop
11.49 and lower = Roll Bar(I think at this point you need some flame stuff and a harness too)
10.99 and lower = Roll Cage and certified chassis
Doesn't matter DB before 10 (Though they say like 110DB or something)
After 10 it's 90DB |

well, looking at the weather forcasts... I don't know if we will be racing or not. Its going to be kind of hard, when I tell them its maybe a 17 second car, and then ask them to tech my helmet. LOL. |

Well we can hope. The cruise to said destination is kind of pointless if not clear skies. Will have to play it by ear. Weather.com is conflicting with the local papers so who knows at this point. |
