UPS just delivered my Megashifter! First real aftermarket mod I'll be able to do! Looking at the directions, seems a little harder then my 4 banger stuff I'm used to installing. Who wants to help? Smile

I loved the megashifter when I had an auto. Several member here have/do use them. Post up any questions but I don't think I'll be down in Salem any time soon.

Should be a fun mod for ya!

It makes it more fun to drive with an auto. Especially with a shift kit.

Install was a piece of cake.

I'll have that one for sale here in the next few weeks. Maybe even days.

A special crate is to arrive tomorrow at 10AM. Twisted Evil

Uh oh.......Paul is going 6 speed on us........

That'll improve highway mileage at the least

(5th= 3.73x.80=2.98:1 final drive)
(6th= 3.73x.62=2.31:1 final drive)

Yup yup

Unless it is a 93, or a 1LE tranny, it will have the .74/.51 combo. IIRC he got an LS1 tranny, which should have the long legged OD gears.

Lets recalculate then:

(5th=3.73x.74=2.76:1 FDR)
(6th+3.73x.51=1.90:1 FDR)

1.90:1 on the highway doing 70mph (assuming he has 16" wheels).......that should put him at somewhere around 1400-1600rpms. Very nice.

Paul are you using a mechanical speedometer cable or an electronic switch with Speed Sensor relay to your mechanical speedo on your T56 (or do you have an electronic speedometer?)

I'll be running without one for a while. Probably just go all autometers rather than spend $300 on a mechanical adapter box thing.

All the Maro's till like 90 have mechanical speedos.

Not sure if its the same size, might want to think about putting a post 86 T/A spedometer in there (so you still have the 145mph readout).....its electronic, I'd say take the Tach too just to keep everything uniform looking.
