				| for LS1 98-02, there are 2 vin engine codes for 5.7 engines-8 and G.. whats the difference??

				| If you're talking about the change from the older style LS1 to the newer it was LS6 intake, better exhaust manifolds, different cam and lack of EGR. |  |

				| for the same year-ex. 2000 there are two 5,7 V8 LS1 vin codes. "G" nd "8"
 are they both al. block and heads?
 just curious as to what the difference is-

				| Probably differentiating between the engine for Z28 vs SS. 
 If you're looking to do an engine swap then the only difference worth mentioning is the SS has a better intake (LS6) but I think they only did that in '01 and '02.  The other minor differences amount to nothing in terms of performance.
 
 Always do a cam swap and full length headers with LS1.  It is cheap and a huge power gain.
