Was sitting here at the computer when I kept hearing a noise. Thought it was the dog. Finally looked outside and saw the dog wasnt doing anything. Looked out towards the barn and I see a big raven attacking the 87. He totally scratched up the drivers fender. Crying or Very sad I go outside and he runs off. So I park the car back inside the barn and close the main doors.

Just a bit later I'm heading out to the barn to paint my tailgate. I hear the same noise, this time he's attacking the 74. He has his foot caught in the hood. I should have wrung his neck right then. But he gets loose and flys away. No damage just scratched primer. So I go on out to the barn and start mixing primer.

Now I hear the same freaking noise. I look out and he's attacking the soft top on my jeep. I head for the house to get the 20 gauge. Come out and of course he's flying off. Just a bit out of range. I fire off 2 shots. He heads for the hills.

I'm walking past my truck with the shotgun in my hand.. And I look, there's 4 big holes eaten in my tonneau and scratches all over the back glass. Confused Evil or Very Mad So now here I am with a torn up tonneau cover on a rig i'm going to try to sell in the next week.

A bit ago Deb comes home and I go out to show her the damage. I bring the gun with me. A police car goes by then comes back and into the driveway. Officer says shots were reported, scared an old lady. I told him what happened. Old lady reported 6 shots! LOL I fired all of 2.

Hopefully thats enough excitement for awhile. Here's some pics.

Damage to the bird.

Tonneau

Look at the back window too.

You're just not going to feel right until you shoot that bird. Hope somebody else doesn't get the satisfaction first.

Apparently I'm the only person that cares and you're only friend.

In that case you're screwed. Laughing

I noticed.

Tonight he's back. Came home just as he was taking a nice blackberry crap on the truck. Ran in for the gun.. and he's gone.. but i'm waiting for him...

At lunch today I discovered that he did get the Jeep too. I had thought he was only attacking the roof, but I failed to see where he scratched the crap out of the hood near one of the latches. Crying or Very sad Looks like these will buff out though.

Just make sure you get the bird, and not the ride. Nothing would piss you off more then that.

Wonder what you did to piss him off?

If you really want to take out some vengence, catch it alive and unharmed. Spray paint it orange and let it go. Trust me, it wont last long and will suffer it's brutal ending by it's buddies.

Seen it happen on a job on Micro Softs campus. So did about 100 MS employees. The iron workers that painted the bird got canned and are not allowed back on the campus.

He seems to be a loner anyway. Don't usually see Raven's together like crows. I'll be happy he's gone.. no matter how it happens.

You can't just shoot it. You have to video it too. I just picture a poof of black feathers. Laughing

20 ga. just doesn't seem balanced with the severity of the situation. It lacks a certain entertainment value needed to feel the right kind of satisfaction when the target goes down. You need something.... bigger. Twisted Evil

Um... I'm pretty sure he's going to scare it to fly and drop it out of the sky --> Hence the shotgun. Wink
Definitely is not a good idea to get all sniper hero on it and try to ice it off the hood of the car. Laughing

I live with a bird and I have a theory: It's just a jerk.

Ravens are smart like parrots. My wife has a parrot and it's a jerk. It's not abused. It's not because I don't know how to relate to it. It's not a health problem. It's just a jerk. A real-deal birdie a##hole. I hate it and it hates me.

Domestic birds can have quite unique personalities, I've had quite a few and some are just pricks but for a wild raven to decide to attack 2 cars at random that's just odd

Motion activate paintball gun to stun it and then you can think of whatever diabolical retaliation you want. Laughing

That may kill it if it hits it right.... Just saying. See I had this "friend" who took a shot at a rabbit from about 25 feet away and hit it in the neck which kinda snapped in two and then the rabbit started makingthe most god awful screech and ended up dying.

I would just go at the bird with a paintball gun lol either he dies or gets beaten to a pulp and if you hit the car just spray it off Laughing

With how smart this bird is though I would keep the real gun handy in case he turns his sights on you
