You'll all find out in a couple weeks. In other news, I started my header install today. As much of a pain in the ass it was, it was fairly straightforward. I just had to move a few brake lines and slightly move the solid coolant line on the passenger frame rail. I used Percy's gaskets and some Mr. Gasket header bolts. I was able to fab a spacer so I can still use the driver side alternator brace. I was able to slide both headers in from the top as well. I also routed all the plug wires under the headers tight against the block so they're hidden and out of the way.
And now for everything that went wrong. The guy who was supposed to make a 2-1 merge for me said he would have it done Friday night... I gave him the exhaust pipes a week and a half ago. He then said he would have it done on Saturday and that I could come over Sunday afternoon to weld up the rest of the Y-pipe. Apparently he didn't try to start working on it until noon today (Sunday) but found out that he was out of argon, yet didn't tell me until 4pm when I asked when I should come over (after I had everything uninstalled). So I pretty much got screwed. So I now have an undrivable car and can't find anyone to finish welding up my exhaust and making a merge pipe. I also broke my hypertech fan switch. So I need to order a new one and hope it gets here before Dyno. Keep in mind this is my daily driver, so it wasn't a very good day. I hope I can figure something out tomorrow. _________________ Richmond 3.73 posi| 36/24 sway bars | SLP LM2 | Koni's | Ground Control 800/200 | Y2K wheels | Dyno Don headers & Y-pipe | airfoil | BBK underdrive pulleys | Raised strut mounts | Extended ball joints | LCARB'S

black or silver? The black would look awesome as long as it matched the black of the car well. |

They did that on myth busters. They found that if the wheels are oriented in the correct way then it is indeed smoother. BUT stuff on the car will break first. _________________ Killing mailboxes since 2009 |

They are silver. From what I was told they are OEM ZR1 wheels. I'm waiting for my friend to get back to me with the offsets, they may be Grand Sport wheels. I would probably paint them or have them powdercoated. I remember seeing a black '91 Z28 with black ZR1 wheels and for the longest time they were my favorite OEM wheel. _________________ Richmond 3.73 posi| 36/24 sway bars | SLP LM2 | Koni's | Ground Control 800/200 | Y2K wheels | Dyno Don headers & Y-pipe | airfoil | BBK underdrive pulleys | Raised strut mounts | Extended ball joints | LCARB'S

Damn that's a sweet car! And I believe that's 35% tint. I've got 20% on mine and you can't see through it unless you're close to it. And actually those wheels look good on that car. |

So I went and test fitted the wheels. It turned out that the front wheels were actually Camaro SS wheels, they were 17x9's, whereas ZR1 wheels are 17x9.5. I've already realized the downfall to staggered wheels widths when I comes to handling so this was a big no-no for me. I also don't really like the silver with my car. I'd prefer the black or gunmetal painted centers. Anyways, here's what they look like...
I've come to learn that if you like something, you're usually most excited when you first see it. And I wasn't too excited about these. Don't get me wrong, I love ZR1 wheels, but not in this color. I'm also taking into consideration that these would still only be a temporary wheel (about 1year). I have a guy that's going to custom make me a set of drop spindles, but they probably won't work with anything smaller than a 17" diameter wheel, and definitely not one that's 11" wide. I've got my eye set on a certain set of wheels (secret) that I'm saving up for and I'll probably order about this time next year. _________________ Richmond 3.73 posi| 36/24 sway bars | SLP LM2 | Koni's | Ground Control 800/200 | Y2K wheels | Dyno Don headers & Y-pipe | airfoil | BBK underdrive pulleys | Raised strut mounts | Extended ball joints | LCARB'S
