The tonneau cover release stopped working on the convertible last summer. I tracked the issue down to the safety switch mounted to the trunk lid pull down assembly. The switch is depressed when the pull down aassemby is down. GM did this so that the tonneau could not be released while the trunk lid is opened as they occupy the same space when opened.

The issue is that the white plastic guides on the pull down track are starting to fall apart. A peice broke off at the bottom of the drivers side track, the switch wasnt being fully depressed. I adjusted the switch so that it hits the end of the metal track, but I dont think the switch will last long with metal to plastic contact.

Anyone know of replacement guides?

Are they the same as for the hatch pull-down? If so, check out Top-Down Solutions, he has guides.

Well with a business name of "Top Down Solutions" I sure hope they would have a solution, it's kind of implied. Very Happy

Al, not sure if they are the same? According to posts on TGO they are. The guides on the convertible are white plastic, similar to the giudes in the link, but I think the old guides were one peice or one per side. The link shows 4 peices, 2 per side?

To be honest, I'm not sure if that shows 4 pieces or two views of 2 pieces. The motor assembly I received from Chris only has two, same as the one I pulled out. There is also this set for the newer (91-92) models.
