1996 chevy 2500 2wd. So I replaced my passenger caliper. Worked fine before, thought it was reason caliper was rubbing rotor. Turns out it wasnt. Anyways, I can not get it to decompress, I have replaced line and new caliper. So does anybody have any ideas. Drivers side works fine. Could I have got two bad reman calipers . Makes no sence at all. Shoild have been simple 20 min job. Now truck has been sitting since july. Irritating.

If it has the same problem twice, I would look some place else. Possible you could have got 2 bad calipers, but doubtful.

Does it have abs? My 97 3500 does. I'm wondering if that abs module that it all goes thru could be bad?

Prop valve or abs module

Or it's the spin kind of caliper.

It does have ABS, and the thought has crossed my mind, but the fact that no lights come on, the.abs seems to work and that it is only one wheel leads me to hope that that is not the problem, for if it is then I here it needs to be reset by a shop. And the fact that.everything worked fine also before I replaced caliper also leads me to think that it is not. I suppose I will try.a third one tommorow and see. I may try to.go.to jy and pick up an oem one and.see if it works.

What exactly do you mean by caliper rubbing the rotor?

The back of it, so towards bed. I thoight caliper bushinhs where bad, so that is why I replaced it, but new one still rubs, so I am assuming prob bearings or maybe askew spindle

Does it rub the friction side? or the Vein/heat release side?

With the truck in the air and the wheel on, can you move the wheel up/down/in/out ?

If the caliper body is physically touching the the rotor, you've installed something wrong, have the wrong caliper, have something f-ed with the spindle/caliper carrier, or possibly a loose wheel bearing.

The back side of calipe rubs, the side towards thw bed, so the inside topbedhe of caloper rubs top of rotor. It has always done this since I got truck, bit before I did caliper it had rubbed a grove in old caliper, so I didnt rub as much. but afterbspending so much time looking at it trying to get my caliper to compress, I have come to conclution that it is the spindle tweaked, because my tire also weare really weird.
