So I have an old school v8 that still uses a flat tappet cam. I purchased an LT1 cam off someone on here about a year ago. Got the dogbone holders, cam hold in cap, even got lifters.

I still need pushrods. So, if I'm running LT1 cam, roller lifters, 113 vette heads. What engine can I go jack some pushrods from that are correct lenth?

Also thinking about going full roller rockers at same time? Worth it or not to get 1.6? And yes, the heads support the big lift, they have been modded to fit some ungodly amount of lift. Do we know of any gm cars other then the LT4 that came with roller rockers?

I must use a single row timing chain, want to go roller on that, cloyes prefferibly since they are made in my state. How will I know what bolt pattern the cam has so I can pre-order the chain. The parts guys here only know how to look up exact stock parts, not heinz 57 cars like mine.

You can't use the dog bones on an old block. The lifter boss isn't machined for them. You have to use retro roller lifters. And they can be a different length than std roller lifters, you'll have to get it all setup and measure.

My block is machined in the lifter valley, and infront of the cam for a roller setup.

do you have the spider, and are all the bolt holes, threaded to accept it? A lot of truck blocks had the bosses and some even had holes, but were not threaded.

Roller TPI motors blocks should work for pushrods. I don't know much about Gen II motors and their pushrod length. Reguardless, even if you buy aftermarket, I'd still double check, just to be safe.

Is it machined for the 3 spider bolts, AND machined flat where the dog bones sit?

If everything is fully machined, it's a roller motor complete that someone went backwards with. If that's the case, std roller motor pushrods '87up roller will work.

Yes, its a crate motor for a truck with a flat tappet cam in it. Its got 2 or 3 machine and theaded boss' in the valley. Then I remember some holes up front around the cam.

So I can go to the junkyard and jack some out of any non-vortec roller sbc? And take a board or something to roll them on to verify there not bent?

Not all blocks that had the spider holes also had the lifter holes machined flat. I've got one like that.. Sad Thats what Paul is trying to point out.

But yes, if the block is ready then all you need is all the stock roller parts. The correct way though would still be to measure the needed pushrod length. Head gasket thickness, block variations, cam variations, and if the heads have been milled can all cause you to need a different length rod then stock.
