Far be it from me to say this, but this build is going too slowly. |
And my 346 made even more. Displacement isn't everything. It's all about the combo and the tune.
Too slowly indeed. This is a six-pack build. By the time you finish the six-pack it should be done. _________________ 84 Camaro Z28 - LS1/T56

And I'm a little conservative on the fuel pressure for now - only 18psi. If I read the calculations right, I might get 300 hp if I bumped it to 22-24 psi, saving that for a different tranny, though... _________________ 92 Camaro

So I took my cam in to have it checked. Machine shop said way to much for the street. Whih sucks cause its like a 400 dollar cam. And its a solid roller and the ship says to go witg a flat tappet so I can save a bunch of money. . |

Not a matter of saving money. You don't have a roller block.
Sell it and buy something that matches your heads and intake better. |

Why would increasing fuel pressure give you more power, unless you're running incredibly lean now? _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

I think Al has much more conservative cam in his 383, probably takes alot less RPM to get moving too. |

I couldn't get any replies to e-mails or phone calls from the builder as to what the internals are. As far as I know, it's all stock Vortec 350 except for the crank, rods and pistons (which he did tell me were Scat and Speed Pro). _________________ 92 Camaro

What's the lobe separation angle?
It could be relatively mild, or it could be incredibly lopey. Depends on your LSA and Compression Ratio/Heads/Intake _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

I dont know the lsa. The guy at delta just wrote those numbers down. I will have to call them the heads are the pri topline srt. 1.94/1.50 with 167 cc intake runner and 67 cc combustion chambers. I was gonna use a performer rpm intake. I had a guy rebuild me a qjet that he set up like the old school ones edlebrock used to make that he said shoukd work well |

Call Delta or just go down there. They should be able to give you the cam card with the info off your receipt. Hell, they had a card for mine and the only info I had was the shop who built the motor and the approximate date.

I guess from what I have been reading he is setting it up lije the qjets thay edlebrock did. From what I have read they were supposed to be decent performance carns. So hopefully it will be. It will be less then 100 bucks whixh inclufes the carb so it is still a decent deal. |
