This s for sale in Portland on Copart.com. It's an auction site.
Someone spent a lot of money on this one. Right now the bid is at $12,500.

Right out of highschool, I worked at a shop that had a 1 owner 55/56 chevy 4 door, and his plans were to make something like this. It was in such killer shape I wanted to barf when he said thats what he wanted to do.
I agree with alot of time and money. _________________ 2008 GMC Z71

If you look at the distributor cap it's a GM HEI, so something by GM. Just not sure what.
All I can say is someone put hundreds of hours of work into it. Would be great for high school reunions for us old folks _________________ Member of the "Elite T56 Club" , big brake club, and "burgundy" (not red or maroon) car owner.

Slanted HEI on drivers side front and center top mount aircon... looks like a Caddy to me. Only other thing I can think of is a big Buick, but the valve covers are too small.
I think I'm less annoyed by the waste of parts as I am by the poor choices and shoddy work. He has a bunch of random wires hanging down under the dash, there are a bunch of holes in the firewall, and just a bunch of little things not done nicely.
Also Vette salad shooters on a shoebox? WTF?
And no fridge in the back of a limo!>?!?! Double WTF! |

Can't really go by the HEI cap anymore. Several companies make ford distributors with gm hei on top. |

'56 is also the ugliest Tri-5. And those C4 'Vette wheels are fugly! Tacky as hell if nothing else. |

I have to disagree with you on that, best is a 55, second is a 56, and by far the worst is a 57 with that tacky grille and gun sights on the hood.
I own a 55 _________________ Member of the "Elite T56 Club" , big brake club, and "burgundy" (not red or maroon) car owner.

You, sir, are absolutely correct.
As usual this is a case of less being more.
Then again maybe it's just my weight reduction bias...

I will agree that the '55 is the best by far. But the '56 has an ugly/boring grill that just seems like a down grade from the coolness of the '55. The '57 ain't much better, but at least they have style. '56s just look plain to me. |
