That's one of the most ambiguous questions you've ever asked.

what did it come off of?
list number?
what's it going on? How can we help with linkage if we don't know what you're trying to link up. For all I know you're trying to put it on a leaf blower.

C'mon you know these details!

Pokey pokey

That number is a casting number not the list number.

Likely an early 80's Ford truck emissions carb.

There will be a FoMoCo part number (which will be like E4TF-1234-A) and a Holley list number which will be four or five numerals and then possibly a dash and one additional number (like 1234-1).

That's not a double-pumper then.

'83 Ford truck, Holley 4180 600CFM. Can't seem to find jet numbers on it but probably big because it's listed for a 460.

Weren't those the carbs with no idle mix screws? Laughing

Ya. After looking at it more I learned it wasn't double pumper. It doesn't have the two fuel inlets. It is still a big carb compared to my quadrajet. Do you think it will be better then my 85 truck qudarajet.

Your quadrajet is a much bigger carb. Quads are either 750cfm or 850cfm. That holley is only a 600. Dual inlets does not mean double pumper either. A double pumper has an accelerator pump on each float bowl.

I guess I meant bigger in size when you look at it.

Do you know what the phrase "double-pumper" means? It has nothing to do with having two fuel inlets or one inlet and a transfer tube.

Bigger how? That truck quad will be a 750-ish CFM carb if I recall my Dad's old '84 correctly.

My opinion, worth what you paid for it: No. Lack of tunability is the downfall of those Ford emissions carbs.

*Edit: Brandon beat me to the first two questions. LMAO

Not sure how good that carb is or how easy it is to install on a chevy. A good and cheap 600cfm holley though is a list 1850. I've used one on my truck for quite a few years and it works very nice.

You want a carb that looks physically big.. I converted my 1850 to use center hung float bowls and added a secondary metering block.. Thing is gigantic for only a 600cfm carb.

Did a bit more digging and my hunch is looking right. Those carbs have a goofy primary block with angled jets and no idle mix adjustment. From what I've been reading Holley purposefully but the alignment dowels in the wrong place so you can't just swap on the usual 4160-style block. Sad

I agree wholeheartedly on the 1850 with the secondary block form a 4150. Plenty of tuning options and will run great once dialed in. Cool

Keep the Qjet. They're great carbs if they are dialed in properly. Plus you already have a good one on your car. There's no need to "upgrade" to a smaller carb. Sell the Holley to some schmuck, especially since you don't have a particularly usable Holley in the first place.
