I'm on the fence. The BMW is down for brakes and now RockAuto is BSing me on availability of parts. I really don't feel like riding in the diesel for five hours, so we'll see how this goes. Laughing

Yeah but it was a craigslist motor.

Yeah, now I know why the guy let me talk him down to $100. Laughing

Somewhat. I've since seen a couple m20b27's for sale for pennies or given away for free. I could probably take both of these motors and build a single good one but I'm getting tired of m20s.

Yup. There is an e36 at lynnwood PnP with the hood stuck shut that's only been there for a couple days plus a couple 525's that I can swipe enough parts from. I have tomorrow off so I'm hoping I can run down and steal it.

Who's gonna tow the inevitable breakdown guy back to Seattle? Razz

You can catch a ride with me if you want. You know you don't want to miss out on a good party. Cool
Because 3 hours in a stiff thirdgen is better than 5 hours in a diesel Ford. Very Happy
Also FYI it's only like 3 hours from your place to P-town if there's no traffic.

My buddy Vince will be coming down from Tacompton and putting that '83 Olds on the dyno, think he's gotten most of the bugs worked out. I just did an oil, filter, and plug change on the Formula today so it's running well. (Knock on wood, no dyno curse!) It's also back to daily driver duty since I sold my ranger. Any body really excited this year?? Anyone bringing something new?

Starting to look like it. No no no...

I am eager to see the Olds run. When I rode in it last it seemed like a pretty decent little engine.

Five hours round trip if I drive fast and don't hit traffic. With the regear I can cruise at 70 all day, but the diesel vibration gets to you after awhile. Laughing

Ah. Round trip would be 5 hours. Gotcha. Very Happy

Three words: Ell Ess Juan Twisted Evil
Although I am expecting to only make about the same or a little less than my last engine, it'll still be a good time.

That seems to be the smart money B... Laughing

I second the question of where and when the get down will be getting down. Confused

I picked up all my m50 swap parts today for a ridiculously cheap price at PnP. It never ceases to amaze me how much BMW guys charge for crap. I have a line on a motor. I MIGHT get it in if I bust my ass after school and before work. There's hope...

I'm excited to see the El ess Juan in action! The Olds should do pretty well. I think he'd be happy anything over 250 to the ground, has a chunky comp cam, and pre-73 heads, but he should have bought a 455 and put the work into it...

Just washed the 85 and my son and I sorted my tools. Just need to do the safety check and I'll be ready for Friday. Very Happy

Yes it is still on. The dyno is inside, weather doesn't matter (other than driving / parking your car in the rain)

Info is all in the post.

This is the Pacific Northwest! If you cancelled events due to rain there would be no events! Wink
