I was wondering if anyone here has used the wilwood proportioning valve 260-11179? Thinking of putting one on the camaro as well as the jimmy.

camaro, biggest issue is I know the lines are metric, this is SAE. Use adapters, or make my own lines and have one end sae, other metric?

jimmy. This valve is 2 in, 3 out. jimmy just has 2 in, 2 out. Can I plug one line off?

Sounds like the jimmy might T the front lines off after the prop valve somewhere?

yes it does. So I'm wondering if I can plug one of the front holes on that valve?

I don't see why not. Might be cleaner to get rid of the factory T and just use this prop valve as one though?

thought about it. But that t is hidden down in the frame. Then that would be more lines I would have to bend/create.

Yeah, if you're not going to re-plumb the rest of the front just cap off the extra front port. That doesn't affect the low pressure warning light, right?

For the thirdgen, I used the cheap ~$30 wilwood single in/single out prop valve, a late 4thgen MC with low fluid indicator built into the reservoir, and a T for the front seeing 100% MC pressure. But this seems to simplify plumbing a bit, and I'm cheap. Laughing

Why spend twice as much just to plug ports? Razz You only need the valve for the rears anyway.

The warning switch? I ran without one for YEARS but if anyone else ever plans on driving the vehicles it's a good idea to keep a malfunction indicator. Smile

LS cars have the warning switch in the MC reservoir. Plus the reservoir looks a ton better than a thirdgen version. Smile

I'm with stupid

I bought the connector to fit mine, spliced it to the current harness and tied the stock connector off, works great.

IIRC, the thirdgen used a stepped MC. 1" main and 15/16" second? And the LS MC uses a solid 1" version.

Luke just used the Summit Racing Prop valve. Bought connectors from a brake line shop in Tacoma and installed it. Works great and he hasn't had any troubles with it.

Edit: IIRC this is the one he used. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-g3905/overview/

I used the Summit one too, it is a rebadged Wilwood and has worked great for me for years.

We had to do a few runs for adapters and I believe we just left the fronts alone in the factory block, word to the wise use a quality tubing cutter (I personally broke the first one) and a flare kit in good shape, we just got the proper fittings for the valve in tacoma and then cut off the old ones popped the new ones on and flared the lines, the first flare kit was a rental and didn't grab the tubing well at all which made for some really jacked up flares at first

It's pretty easy once you have the right fittings and tools, it came with a couple fittings but Idk if we used them or not

It looked like alot of the fittings for jimmy atleast, I cant find on summit. Looks like it will be easier to cut and reflair the lines with propper fitting on it.

Havent looked at the camaro yet, it will be soon as jimmy can drive.

This. Not only does it look better to chop and reflair with the correct fitting but less chances for leaks. Heck, O'Reillys sells tube nuts in the correct sizes. Wink

IIRC, you'd need one adapter per side to go from the prop valve's pipe fitting to a proper flared fitting?

You are looking at a prop valve with five fittings on it and saying "I need to replace it with one that has five" but you don't. The factory valve is a shuttle-type where pressure is balanced between front and rear.

What most of us are doing is running full flow to the front and running a restrictor-type valve that just limits the rear. That reduces the work you have to do on the lines as the fronts are merely tee'd.

Yup yup Most of those valves have 1/8" NPT fittings. My Wilwood valve came with a package of adapters for various flared sizes to 1/8" inch pipe and I bought a few more at the local Baxter's.
