Wanted to see if there's any interest out there, I have everything for a T5 swap still working in my car right now, considering going a different route with a transmission.
I have the following;
-Non-World class T5, unknown mileage but very strong, no grinds while shifting, always ran syncromesh fluid.
-New master and slave cyls (fluid lines and resivour also included).
-V8 bell housing
-Used clutch with approx. 20k on it.
-Hurst billet-plus Shifter (like new).
-Clutch and Brake pedal set (can be reused but I recommend a different set).
-also have a firebird 5 speed shift plate in pretty decent shape

I was thinking $500 for everything, maybe $400 without the shifter. May be negotiable. If anyone is interested I can take you for a ride in the car so you can see how well it shifts. Shoot me a PM if you would like

Terrible idea for a commuter IMHO. Need a stick in traffic. Leave the auto for drag cars and towing.

Dual mass flywheel, deep first gear and a fairly light clutch.

A T5 is a decent traffic transmission. T56 less so.

For most of my driving the T5 is kind of a pain. A few years ago I just had to shift my own gears. Now I'm up in the air. For the stop and go BS driving. Auto is way better.

Speaking of dual mass flywheels.. had a ford one in today.. bearing went bad.. The whole clutch flywheel surface, disc and pressure plate were offset 1/4"... can you say vibration?? Poor powerstroke.. Sad

Jeez. Did you replace it or just bolt it up?

I seem to recall the spec being to replace the entire flywheel assembly every time you did the clutch. I'm sure Ford didn't mind charging an extra $1000 every clutch job. Laughing

Clutch/flywheel is a year old.. Installing the non dual mass replacement kit. Vibration was so bad it almost made that crewcab hop.

All dual mass flywheels die at some point. They are like buying a spectre brand harmonic balancer. Imagine the vibration with the same offset failure on a 150lb version on a 16 liter. Almost got the semi tires off the ground.

If you have a love of driving keep the stick. You will wish you had it back when you wanna have fun. And when the 700 takes a crap. And it will. You'll kick yourself.

I am under no delousions that 700's or any automatic is bullet proof. I've blown one myself. I am getting fairly tired of bleeding my clutch and it still not getting good disengaugement, cruising around and stop and go I might enjoy the car more with a "relaxed" driving style. The place I love the 5 speed the most is out on the backroads. But only time I do that is for fun

Everything in the bell housing is about 3 years old, roughly 20k on it all. I've tried all kinds of ways to bleed the system, when I checked last, the slave rod moves 1" with pedal depressed. But it feels like the disengaugement got worse since then.
And skyler id like to drive my fun car MOST of the time, not one or two days a week.
