Aaron, I'm pretty sure he knows his way around resistors. _________________

LEDs and resistors are one thing.... varying input voltage is another. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

It was simpler to say resistors than pulse width modulators. And either is pretty easy. |

Seems like a lot of extra work and money to avoid using a nice simple incandescent. |

I am going to use all factory indicators lit by incandescent bulbs for a nice factory look like that guy on TGO with his check engine light. Except I am doing all of mine like that. It was hard to represent that in CAD so I just used colored dots. _________________ 84 Camaro Z28 - LS1/T56

Re-using factory indicators is going to make it look really good. |

Gauge panel is driving me crazy. Mine will be better than factory on spacing for sure. Has anyone ever actually looked at and measured a factory one? It's a half inch taller on one side than the other! The speedo and tach holes are more than a quarter inch different in placement from one side to the next. It's terrible, I am amazed. It's like some dude eyeballed it and then it went to production. The screw holes that hold it to the dash are not even evenly spaced.
Mine will be better. _________________ 84 Camaro Z28 - LS1/T56

Probably beats any Christmas present you got.
Where did that upper radiator hose come from? That's not 4th gen Camaro, is it? |

It came attached to the engine, I assume its just an upper radiator hose for an '02 Camaro. I will look and see if it has any numbers on it that I can look up. _________________ 84 Camaro Z28 - LS1/T56

So this hose will work on my radiator and I won't have to buy a new one? Sweet. What did you use for the lower hose? _________________ 84 Camaro Z28 - LS1/T56

There are two hoses that will work. I ran the jeep cherokee hose for years. However, it rests against the idler arm bolts and will eventually wear through. After ~90k miles though it was no where close to going through, I just had threads chaffed into the side of the hose. There's also the f250 hose that you cut the center section out of. I bought that one but never got around to putting it on.
IIRC, '90 5.8 F250 w/AC in gates is the one I bought later that supposedly works. I'm PRETTY sure gates #21505 is the one I was running since originally swapped and it worked great for me. I'll have to double check tomorrow though. I think late 80s/early90s cherokee. 4.0 _________________

No problem, I'll probably go that way on the hoses too.
In other news I sent my ECU out to Frost today for a retune. Gonna try to strip my harness and get started on reworking it this week, as well as prepping my Camaro's engine bay. _________________ 84 Camaro Z28 - LS1/T56

I got the engine ready to drop in today by pulling all of the unnecessary parts. AIR tubes, A/C compressor and bracket and lines and misc. hoses and stuff all got removed.
I also pulled the harness off, it's not cut anywhere which is very good, most swap-selling places at least cut the connectors that go through the firewall into the interior of the car but not these guys. I have a lot of fun harness reworking ahead of me, but it should be easier than building engine harnesses for MegaSquirt engines so I've at least got a head start on this one.

Well, got the harness de-loomed last night. Time to start tracing and deleting some wires. I might have the harness ready to go standalone this weekend, and my ECU should be back in my hands on either Saturday or Monday.
The motor and transmission are getting bolted into the body this weekend. After that occurs I have a pretty small list of things to do:
1. Finish harness and electrical stuff
2. Figure out rad hoses and steam line
3. Think up fuel system plan and order parts
4. Make Y-pipe and attach exhaust
5. Finish the gauge panel and put interior back together
6. ???
7. Profit! _________________ 84 Camaro Z28 - LS1/T56
