Max budget of $3k, but would love to spend 1-2k. I've been looking at 1stgen and s10's and 2ndgen s15's but I'm having a heck of a time finding v6/5speed combos. Full size isn't out of the question either but I haven't found many I like. Color and mileage aren't really a concern, just want a solid motor and not horribly beat up. Would prefer 2wd as that drops the desirability a bit. _________________

Shouldn't be too hard to find a 2.8/T5 combo. Those engines have the same bearing issue as the Camaro engines did, so look for an '87+.
I wouldn't get a 4.3 as they have worse economy and mid-to-high range power vs. the 60* engines.
Don't spend more than 1500 on one. I paid five hundred for my 2wd single-cab. |

Your always a 4.3 hater Aaron I purchased my 88 S10 4.3/auto for $400 bones, fixed the TV cable, cleaned it up, drove for a year, did a bunch of burnouts and sold it for 1200. Id buy another in a heartbeat for the right price. |

Easier said than done! I've found two on craigslist and I was on my way to look at one and it sold! _________________

Yeah, I was even looking so far as Idaho for a decent deal. I'm really kicking myself for not grabbing the one yesterday. _________________
