Nuts to that. Time to work on an even less useful vehicle:

Working smarter, not harder. Wink

New rear axle ready to go under (again with the working smarter)

Wait... this all seems somehow familiar...

Anyone want to gear down their Ford? Laughing

Not bad for a nice slow days work. I drove it around a bit tonight and there is a noticeable drop in RPM around town, (4.10 down to 3.55) but I think I will wait till I get some cotter pins in the front end before I take it on the freeway! Surprised

Dang swapping diffs in a third gen certainly doesn't require an engine crane. Lol
Are the 3.55's not going to effect towing ability?

3.55 will still tow, just have to spin the motor a bit more. But I think he said he rarely tows anyway.

Oh I tow plenty. Wink

It's a diesel. Gear doesn't affect it like a gasser. The goal of this was to give myself more range and more speed. 65mph at redline kinda sucks.

Winter is here. Let's get cracking on the vehicle that lives in the garage!

I agree. Lots to do here! We need an excuse to get together and drink beers. Laughing
