Looks like my HC(ppm) and CO% are up a bit from two years ago.
This is a pretty clean test for a catless car I think. Smile

Test Results

Yeah, it's a joke. It went down from 220 HC and 1.2% CO last time, they are phasing out emissions up here and as part of that I think they just raised the limits pretty high. If it was OBDII, I wouldn't even have to do a sniffer test, just a plug-in readiness monitor. It's only in some parts of Washington around Seattle you have to do it too, I didn't used to have to where I lived before but I do here. And my Camaro is exempt anyway.

Yeah, it used to be 220 for older vehicles and was lower if you had a newer car.

There is no visual inspection and everyone just passes with ethanol, vacuum leaks and retarded timing so no one fails anymore. That's why they're getting rid of it.

They didn't even check for my Check Engine light working or on or anything. It was a simple transaction where I drove up to a booth, they stuck a probe up my tailpipe, told me to rev to 2500 and hold it, then let it idle. The guy handed me my sheet, said "Congratulations, you passed" and I drove away.

I have a catless exhaust, a tuned ECU, bigger injectors, different MAF, and did no preparation at all for the test. I just got in my car and drove from work. No alcohol, no timing adjustment, nothing. And I had to idle for almost 10 minutes waiting to be tested, so my engine was pretty cool.

You're fulltime AWD so you get a different test. Wink

They used to run everybody they could on the dyno but now that they know they're all losing their jobs they're pretty lax. The Bimmer just got the rev test.

There has never been any visual inspection of any kind, CEL or anything.

There was a guy with a 2WD truck on one side next to me and someone with a FWD Hyundai on the other side and neither of them got the dyno either, so your analysis of the situation seems accurate. Wink

Lol Damn I'm just gonna move north. I managed to pass the bird one year with 219 out of 220HC. It had a hallow cat, timing retarded a lot and motor was stock but it barely made it. If the limit was 400HC all bet I could pass even with my cam now.

I've gotten the dyno for the last ten years. No I've for an exempt car, and two OBD2. It's nice. They do run your obd2 car to verify the ecm is connected to the engine though.

Dad just tool his ranger through, and his pass sheet didn't even have numbers anymore.

I noticed that when I took the Bimmer through. Instead of the normal blue printed form you always got they just give out a piece of white office printer paper with your VIN and a pass/fail on it. Definite short-timer syndrome. Laughing

Yeah, my sheet doesn't have any numbers on it either. You can still go on their website and check out any current or previous emissions tests for that specific VIN or license plate number.
