Looking for a legit ac delete box, I modified one from an s10 and its sitting too close to my header for my comfort, its maybe a business cards thickness away from it and its starting to flake the paint

Blargh.. what's all this then about deleting your box!? Surprised

Yes I have delete boxes with motors. Several to choose from. Junkyard fresh. Also have mounting hardware. I was going to bombcan them all and put them on TGO for a hundred or so apiece but I would love to sell them for less now and save myself the cleanup work. Laughing I can help install for some extra bucks/beers. Also, if you want to reuse your A/C motor I can show you what type of cage you will need to do that.

Well I've got it all wired and set for using my ac relay and motor, it was working good with the modified box but its just too close for my comfort, how much do you want for a box?

I will go $70 on box with motor if I don't have to paint and ship it.

You can reuse your motor with the new box but you will need a new squirrel cage. I can show you that when you pick up the box. The cage needed is easily found in any junkyard.

You free tomorrow? I'll be around.

I was under the impression you can use the ac delete box cage on the a/c motor?

I had an ac delete blower before but I had to replace it because the brushes went out, I believe the cage was anal enough because they didn't have the right one and they couldn't order it apparently so I went off dimensions of the cage and the bolt pattern its a bit bulkier and a pain to get in the s10 bow because its really close to the fender well but it works, from looking at it I think ill have more room with a camaro box

You cannot. Their are three types of cages and two lengths of motor studs across GM stuff of that era. The aircon cars got the long stud with the tall cage, the delete cars got the short stud with the short cage. To run the aircon motor in the delete box you need a short cage set up for a long stud.

If only someone would have completed the process while building one of these boxes for Jon, and then posted it to the site! Surprised Laughing

Basically you take both cages off, measure them, then go to the yard with a tape measure, and a 13mm, 10mm, 8mm and 7mm and start yanking motors till you find one with the right cage. Most midsize early 90's cars had the right one, so it's easy to find.

I just spaced the motor assembly away from the delete box 1/4" and used my AC cage. Very Happy
