| With the diesel N/A I ran my EGT probe in the driver's manifold right in front of the last exhaust port. The are log manifolds so I theorized that it would pick up the most heat there. With the turbo on there now should I reposition it to the collector or leave it be? |

Don't know about little trucks. But big trucks have the pyro about 6" back in the stream from the turbo OUTLET. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

| I installed a pyro on a duramax and the instructions had me drill the exhaust manifold in a position similar to where you put yours for the primary pyro. The kit was also able to monitor a second pyro that could be installed where Paul suggests. |

So diesel owners seem to all be idiot jocks.
Which would explain the freeway lifts and stacks and Fox Rider stickers on everything.
So I found very little useful info in the interwebs.
But what I did find is that the reason large trucks run the EGT post-turbo is because the old ones would break down with excessive heat, and broken pyro = new turbo = poorer truckers.
There is a spot on the cast iron turbo mount for an EGT probe. I don't know if it came that way from Banks or not. I plugged it and left mine in the manifold. I would suspect that moving to the collector it would cause me to see lower temps overall, but I could see if a cylinder or injector went out on the passenger side, which is something I cannot do right now. |
