i was thinking today, cause someone hit my car and the front has to be re painted again, (got hit 2 weeks after i got my bumper painted)

can i somehow wire up like four of these on the bottom of my GFX to make an alarm go off if the front spoiler gets to close to the ground?

http://www.keyence.com/products/sensors/proximity/em/em.php

or have 2 wired to a yellow light thats set at two inches and have 2 connected to a red light at 1 inch or something

I doubt you could react before hitting something. Things happen fast when you're moving. Best thing you can do is be careful and attentive while driving.

Need curb feelers like on a 70's pimp's car. Cool

If someone hit your car then there is nothing you can do about that. People can't drive and they crash into shiny things. That's how it goes.

If the cost is higher than your detectable (and it probably wont be) but if it is, then you can make a claim against your UIM insurance and have a shop match the color up.

If the problem is you running into curbs and whatnot then you just need to learn to drive better. Wink

Stupid people don't realize they go where they look. Some of the population is thinned out on ski hills with trees in the center of the path, but not all of them.

Never approach an incline or driveway head on. Take it at a 45* angle. Problem solved. I deal with situations like that probably 10 times a day and I never scrape.

I'm a nerd and even I'm too cool to put curb whiskers on my car.

Jon that's because you've done the uncool-kid thing and bought a car with no ground effects at all! Cool

What he needs to do is install drag springs up front. That way he can just throttle his way over obstacles.

I don't think Luke has an issue hitting the gas lol the crappy part around here is some driveways are good and others are terrible, I snagged my cat on a parking lot driveway the other day there's just no way to tell when you are and are not goibgto hit, I normally go really slow and the front clears but my exhaust drags like a mofo no matter what angle or speed I take things at

You need to work at the angle you approach them at. Skyler and I have by far the lowest cars in the group, and we make due. I rarely hit the nose, and rarely does the cat hit. Its all in getting is position and taking the right angle to not hit stuff, its not that hard, and my car is at least 3" lower than yours.

My car is decently low (probably 4th lowest behind Skyler, John and Ian Razz) and I never scrape. The only thing I have a problem with is my driveshaft loop on the Spohn crossmember scrapes over speedbumps. Dewey is right, it's all about approach angle and simply paying good attention to what you're driving on.

I used to scrap my exhaust on stuff. Now I'm excited to drop it another half inch or so because I won't have to worry about the exhaust. Laughing

I've gotten high centered before leaving a gas station in Gig Harbor. Whoops. Laughing
