i bought some LED strips for my turn signals, gonna try to make something work haha but anyway, how do i make them so they are dim with running lights and full brightness when the turn signal is on? i was reading about diodes and resisters but how do i know which ones to use??

LEDs arent truly dimmable. They have to be pulse width modulated like in Ian's link. Basically making a very fast strobe out of them. If you ever take an led flashlight and look at your crank pulley.. you'll see its almost like using a timing light.
