I was at this new junkyard (horseshoe auto wrecking) off belfair highway looking for a tow hitch for the dakota. Of course, i had to check for camaro parts. There was a 88 trans am with what looked like a complete 305tpi, mated to a t5 and a 10 bolt with pbrs (possibly out of a 4th gen should be a 9 bolt for this year). This car also had the trans am tail lights. There was forth gen auto z28(lt1) with a complete rear. I did not check for the engine. There was a 91 or 92 bird with those pieces that go between the front wheel and the front nose. The pass side one was in good shape, the drives side had a small crack about an inch long (looked like it could be repaired).

There were probably 6 third gens that weren't really picked over at all. In fact none of the cars there had really been touched. Seemed like they had good prices.

Reading comprehension! Razz

He thinks the axle is a fourth-gen, not the transmission.

There are no V8 T5's in a 4th gen, only t56. The rear axle in the third gen is possibly from a 4th gen becuase it has the pbr rear brakes and a 10 bolt not stock for that car.

4th gen V6 t5s have a ford bolt pattern for the 3800 motor.

Well I'm gonna go pick up that tranny either Friday or this weekend. I wonder if they can pull it for me and make my life easier? Hmmm

Don't let yard monkeys pull your stuff! They'll leave good parts on the car, bolts won't get saved, things will get broken/stripped/whatever. Do it yourself, do it right. Cool

I would call before hand, about how to go about the removal of the tranny. Alot of the cars there still had the wheels and tires attached including the trans am with the t5. The cars are not elevated on the T-welded rims.

It wouldn't have been black with rims would it? he was just a dick to me for no apparent reason, really enjoys snapping at people apparently.
