Been trying to do something that isnt about cars.. Laughing Anyway, I dug out my old Atari computers awhile ago. I had 2 of them my very first computer from back in 81.. an Atari 400 and one I got later an 800xl. The 800xl was broken so I bought a 2nd one and used it to diagnose the first. Then I installed an S-video port conversion to get rid of the old RF box. One more part and I'll have 2 of them working! Shocked

Anyway, long ago I sold my disk drive and all its floppies, so now all I have is a few cartridges. Fairly boring. So I go looking and find there's still a huge Atari community out there and they're still building new things for them.

Out of several choices I decided to build an Sdrive Nuxx.. Bought it in kit form which was just a circuit board, programmed chip, and custom end panels. Bought the rest of the stuff from Digikey. It's basically an SD card reader that pretends its an Atari floppy drive. Using this I can load an SD card with files from the net using my pc.. then play them on the Atari.. I'm d/ling 4k + games as we speak! Very Happy

Oh.. forgot, this thing also contains an onboard flash programmer to replace the onboard OS. Pretty cool.

So here's what it looks like.

That is very cool. My other main hobby is polotics. Between wrenthing on my camar ( though hopefully soon it will be for fun instead of neccessity) , my kids, and politics, I only need about 36 hours a day to get by.

Polotics: Many people think this is an incorrect spelling of the more popular word "politics" but this is a myth. Polotics is actually a sport similar to polo but is played by two teams consisting of rich old men. There are only two teams, the Democrats, (blue, their mascot is a donkey) and Republicans (red, their mascot is an elephant). National Championships are held every four years with the Democrats winning the most recent one which was held in 2008.

No, I don't have that much free time. A hobby can't be demanding or it won't be any fun.

Far cry from the Duck Inn! Laughing And I see you got stuck with another Brandon.. Very Happy

Sadly I've gotten nowhere trying to play the guitar(helps if you even try). And now that i've redesigned my thumb with a sledgehammer.. it might be awhile. I better stick with the Atari.

I've been getting into bowling lately. Took 1st place in the State Games of Oregon and 4th place in the State Games of America. Sheesh I guess I'm getting serious with this. Besides that I snowboard, play guitar, and paintball. I played baseball for 13 years, soccer for 8, used to do drafting, and have been interested in drawing my whole life, and almost made a career out of it. I used to be a pretty serious gamer with StarCraft back in the day too.

I am the same way, although now it is usually the motorcycle and photography together. I just look for excuses to ride somewhere to take pictures.

Slowly getting back onto the bicycle. Once or twice a week, I've been bringing the bike to work on the back of the van we use to vanpool, then riding the 11 or so miles to the ferry. After the ferry ride, there is another couple of miles to my car where the bike goes on a rack for the trip home. The ride from work consists of one very long, very steep hill in Bothell which makes the 11 mile ride take about an hour.
