I saw this on MSNBC (home page at work) today and thought it was interesting. What I find funny is how the cities of Kirkland and Seattle spend money to protect trees from beavers. Ever seen a chainlink fence wrapped around a tree near a lake? Thats how they keep the beavers from taking down the "endangered" trees. Think UW arboretum and the retired golf course in Kirkland.
