 Is that a factory/dealer fix or is that putty junk a previous owners cheerleader daughter fix?
 
 Fuel tank filler nozzle, FYI.
 
 Now I take a break, drink some beer and then I'll throw the racetronix in.

 I am. It's taken me this long to do the swap. This is the factory tank from my car. It's definitely not going back in. Now tomorrow hopefully I'll have time before work to go have some fuel lines made.

				| I read through the first couple of pages, it looks like a common problem. From what I could gather reading between the lines of the dead links, GM is responsible for replacing the tanks up to ten years after the initial sale. 
 I think my wifes 90 IROC has this problem. If the tank is more than half full it smells like it's leaking fuel, and on hot days with less than half a tank.

				| I wonder if my 91 might've not had that recall done, because it certainly smells like gas sometimes. 
 I called the local Chevy dealer (Lee Johnson in Kirkland) and the service department told me it was impossible for them to check if the recall had been performed, unless it had been performed there, due to how old the recall was.  He recommended that I find out where the car was before and call that dealer to see if they'd have records...
 
 He also said that they could physically check the car to see if it had been performed, so I might just take it in at some point.  Although, I suppose I ought to put at least the driver's seat back in first...
