|
|
Well after waiting nearly 3 weeks for this to arrive (Parcel Post sucks), I received the wonder bar. Now my question is...should the metal rod have a curve to it? The end plates lay flat. If the rod was straight, the plates would be bowed out and there might would be some sort of clearance issue. Just curious. _________________

Stock part?
Ive had 2 TDS versions and both had a strait bar. V1 was to be a stock replacement. The v2 I have now was modded a little bit to fit all year cars and I think a slightly bigger bar. _________________ 2008 GMC Z71

Yes it's a stock part. A co-worker said it was there in case of impact, it would fold up...not sure about that, but you never know. I'm not sure what year of 3rd gen it came off of. _________________

My TDS is straight. I can't remember if my stocker had a belly in it or not. |

| FWIW, my wonderbar is flat, with flat plate ends. I believe the prior owner (Bobby) got it off an 88 IROC camaro in the JY. |

Yep...a little more research confirms I got ripped...oh well, you win some, you lose some. It was hard to tell from the pics on ebay, but I was leary when I ordered it. Weird how it didn't look stressed and the brackets are flush with each other. _________________

| While that sucks someone would sell that without disclosing the true condition, just straighten it out and use it. Not like it serves a complex function, it's just a brace. As long as you get the bar straight it will be fine. |

There's a place close to my work that does metal fabrication...I'll see if they can straighten it out for me...as a favor. _________________

I sent him a message and see where it goes from there. I should have used better judgement knowing that cheap and free shipping was too good to be true. I don't want to pay to send it back, so I might as well see what I can do with it. If anything, it will make a good prop for John's hood. _________________
