I've always wanted an iroc. But I love my V6 so I figured I would just swap in a motor and different suspension. Would it be better to buy this car? Let me know what you think |

It's always better to start with a V8 car if you want a V8. Only question is whether or not this car is good enough and reliable.
You like the V6 car because that's what you have. Trust me, you won't even be thinking about the V6 car after one day in a good running IROC. |

Why?
A car is just a big collection of parts. That car is nothing special. Unless your shell is no good (bondo, rust, ect.) you need to not waste time or money.
A manual transmission is a hole in the floor. A V8 is just a different set of motor mounts in different holes. |

| True, but not having a good place to work on the car makes it hard to do any major work to it |

That is the major caveat. I have a nice shop and I am fairly tooled-up, so starting from scratch doesn't even phase me.
When I was your age (a little older, actually) I hunted down a nice factory L98 car and did a T-56 swap on it. I bought it so I wouldn't have to swap an engine. Looking back at it the irony of that logic is astounding.
I would not count on that car. He also has it listed under auto parts with the line "will not part out." My guess is that he doesn't have the title, the title is branded, or it was wrecked and those are old pictures. |

The car looks to be in good shape from the pictures other then having the factory flaky paint.
I somewhat agree on the if you want a v8, just buy one with the engine you want. Its more original, not a butcher job, and just less work(usually). This still coming from someone who has a decent set of tools and space to do.
I say if you have the cash and its what you want, go look. Just dont get attached before you go. |

Does your beard do all your dirty work?!?!
I used to use "Just for Men" on my goat. Now I just let it go natural. Thats 'cause I have a girlfriend now and she knows I'm going grey. |

| I know I'd like to swap a V8 into my car but like I said having no place to work on it sucks. That and I've always liked the irocs. I just want to find one that is in decent condition for under 2500 |

I did not intend that to dissuade you from buying a new car, just that you will probably not find a true IROC in "decent" condition for that price. Bear in mind that I sold my IROC for 3 grand with a blown up trans. |

| Yea I realize that. The good thing about my car is that it is rust and bondo free. It was garage kept its whole life. And the no ground effects look is unique, everybody has ground effects these days |
