Is a lower shift boot worth it's weight in gold yet? Laughing

I have a pristine one, but it's going in my car ASAP.

If you're desperate, go on lowes.com and search for this item number: "53196"
That's what I used temporarily 'til I found the lower boot I'm using. It fits almost perfectly.

Rolling Eyes

Man, how are these rare? I had a couple from the JY when I swapped the T-56. Put one in my IROC sold the other. Found a nice one when Gabe was out here (he bought it), and got another good one in the Bananer.

Also, I just sold a good set of pedals with good pads and a five-speed plate to Bruce on Saturday. So yay for bad timing. Laughing

Because GM no longer makes them, 4thgen ones don't fit, they're rubber that's exposed to road grime and oil, and idiots break/tear/remove them when they mess with our cars.

I've been junkyard hopping for years and the ONLY one I've ever seen was the one I bought when we were out together. You must just be lucky, man. Smile

Wanna argue about it? Razz

Actually I have never put a fourth gen unit on a factory shifter hole, only a hole I cut, so the holes might not line up or whatever, but the boot worked fine.

Hands off on this one, but I hear the 4thgen ones don't even come close to fitting a factory thirdgen shifter hole.

I do believe they are both discontinued from GM anyway. Wink But the 4thgen should be way easier to find at the junkyard.

See, I didn't have a factory hole in my IROC. So I got a fourthgen T-56 unit (different boot for T-5 and T-56 fourthgen, and yes, they are marked) and went with it.

Indeed they are discontinued, I think I'll do a little research on the 4th gen boots.

I have a set of LS1 rear brakes, and an extra strut tower brace laying around!

Mmm, idk about the LS1 rear brakes, I already have PBR rear brakes which are not far behind LS1's. I'm more interested in front brake set ups. But which STB do you have, any pictures of it?

Got a set of hedman full length 1 5/8's but you would have to fab a y pipe for them.

I guess I need to edit my post. I actually ordered a set of Dyno Don headers and Y-pipe, but thanks for the offer!

I found some Recaro's locally. Koni's and raised, solid struts mount are the highest on my priority list.
