2nd gen.. but you'll deal right?
Aluminum goodness.. though I can tell Paul sure didnt weld it.. Think it must come from a chinese welding school.. brand is American Eagle. Other then the welds it appears to be a nice radiator.
And some electrical goodies to go with it.. twin 12" fans and a hayden fan controller.

But what are you going to do with the second one?
Anything with an "American" title is made overseas. |

Got it all installed today. The radiator hold down was completely wrong. Wasnt wide enough even and only had 3 bolts vs 4. So I had to fabricate one out of a leftover sheet of aluminum I had and some truck parts. Don't think I did too bad for using a hammer, vise and some pliers. Still need to polish it however. I'm still debating my choice of twin fans over a single 16. Looked like the 16 would have covered more area. These are moving lots of heat but only seem to maintain temp and not cool off.
Now for the pics.

Verdict in.. cruising down the road it now runs at thermo temp. I have a 160 thermo and before it ran at about 200. |

Well the radiator itself works great, but I have a problem to report. The transmission cooler fittings in the radiator were warped by their welding. So they started leaking on me. Noticed this morning when I went out to my car that I had fluid spraying up the back of the spoiler. Luckily I have a heavy duty trans cooler installed as well, so I've just disconnected the tranny lines from the radiator. Motor is a wee bit cooler now as well. Evidently that stall convertor generates some heat! So anyway, this cheap American Eagle radiator is Ok but watch the welds. |
